POLL: HOW TO GO TO SCHOOL CHILDREN IN MILAN?

one in three children goes to school in cars, only 20% using public transport. MILAN "PROHIBITED" TO BICYCLES

Monday, March 5, coinciding with the arrival of the Green Train to Milan in Milan, Lombardy and Legambiente Legambiente Milan presented the survey: "Which means the guys from the capital Lombard go to school? ".

The survey shows that 44% of children who responded moves on foot, 20% used public transport and 4% uses a scooter or bicycle. However, the conclusion is that even 32% is by car. But because the parents can not give up this way? Beyond the distance the school from the homes, the nightmare remains to breathe too much smog. The public transport instead are discarded because they felt overcrowded and inefficient if not completely absent. There are fears and criticisms that agree with what teachers say the schools considered: the ways in which schools are located are very busy, with no bumps to reduce the speed of the vehicles, not guarded by local police officers, noisy and trackless paths.

are still too many children living in a car route home-school and lose touch with the city, the streets and people: to regain the city also means living it directly, on foot or by bike.

PROVINCIAL COORDINATORS MEETING OF LOMBARDY LEGAMBIENTE:

NEED 'TO WORK IN THE AREA NETWORK WITH REGIONAL SCHOOL

Saturday, February 24th we held the meeting of the provincial coordination of Legambiente Lombardia (there were Cremona, Lecco, Pavia, Varese). During the discussion has raised some considerations on the role of the Regional School clubs over territorial

  • May to indicate a timetable for the initiatives to involve the schools already in the planning stage of the school calendar the following year;

  • the term "training school" in the industry seems simplistic compared to the need of a broader intervention Legambiente in education and training, aimed at schools, adults and the theme of social problems;

  • you need to enable greater coordination between regional and territorial circles on activities in schools, so to network information and best practices.

To clarify these points, the relationship between the activities of clubs and the association Legambiente Trainers and Training School, and set a concrete collaborative next April 14 will hold a meeting of provincial coordination extended to all clubs CEA and carrying out environmental education projects in schools.
